Hataitai Local Kai Box

  • Anglican-Methodist Church All Saints Parish 90 Hamilton Road, Hataitai (map)

Take the evening off from cooking on Wednesday 9 March and pick up a Hataitai Kai Meal Box instead! The Hataitai Seeds to Feeds team will be serving up a tasty and nutritious two-course meal box made from local veges, herbs, and fruit.

Each meal box will include a main dish of squash tagine, two salads, a lucky dip dessert, plus a surprise treat or two! It will be a generous feed for two adults, so save the rest for tomorrow if you’re going solo (lucky you!), or consider buying two if you have a bigger whānau.

Buying a box will also mean you are entered into the draw to win a voucher to one of our awesome local cafes or restaurants. This voucher will be snuck into one of the boxes on the night and could be picked up by anyone!

To complement these boxes Taco Addicts will also be with us providing some of the most delicious tacos about! You can order 4 tacos when you order your Kai box: either all veg/an or a mix of vege and meat. They might be able to be purchased on the night but will be strictly limited availability.

You are welcome to enjoy your meal box or tacos picnic-style on the grounds of All Saints (please bring your own plates and cutlery). Or take it away and enjoy it at home. Space will be limited as we will be allowing for safe physical distancing.

Meal boxes are available on a koha basis. We will be using the money to support more local food growing in our area, including donating to Kilbirnie and Hataitai Schools' Garden to Table programs.

We are also keen to support our community during this difficult time, so please get in touch if you or someone you know is isolating or staying home due to COVID. We would be happy to deliver a meal box to their door!

COVID SAFE PLAN :

We will be following a contactless pickup system that will allow for safe physical distancing. If you are unable to collect your meal please let us know you would like delivery by email Sarah@seedstofeeds.nz with your booking information and she will arrange delivery for you.

Masks are to be worn at all times except for when seated and eating.

For those wishing to picnic with us, we will be scanning vaccine passes when you sign in. We ask you to bring your picnic set up, plates or containers for your meal, cutlery, cups, and picnic blankets. We will have people on hand to help you find space that fits within safe physical distancing.
